Africa Solar Brings Together Key Solar Industry Players: The Message Is Clear — The Time to Act Is Now

On June 10, 2026, Africa Solar brought together businesses, industrial leaders, and investors at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Center in Tunis around a shared conviction: photovoltaic energy is no longer an option — it is a strategic imperative.

With a full audience, leading partners, and a clear message, Africa Solar, the photovoltaic integrator of the 3S Group, hosted its annual seminar dedicated to solar investment in Tunisia. Alongside its strategic partners, Huawei, Green Power, and Jinko Solar, the event gathered private-sector decision-makers, institutional representatives, and technical experts for a comprehensive program combining presentations, panel discussions, and client testimonials.

PV: A “Must-Have” for Tunisian Businesses

The discussions were opened by Adel Dahmani, Deputy CEO of the 3S Group, whose keynote set the tone for the day. According to him, the conclusion is undeniable: solar photovoltaic energy has become essential for any company seeking to remain competitive.

“PV has become a must; it is no longer an option,” he stated, highlighting that the 3S Group has always differentiated itself through an innovation-driven strategy in selecting its partners. He also emphasized the complementarity between the Group’s two divisions — IT and Cleantech — which he described as “inseparable” in the ongoing transformation.

Beyond Tunisia’s considerable solar potential, Adel Dahmani stressed the urgency of taking action: controlling long-term energy costs, planning coherent investment strategies, and staying ahead of change.

“The question is no longer whether companies should transition to PV, but who will gain a competitive advantage first,” he told the audience.

Among the key arguments presented was return on investment: Africa Solar is currently observing ROI periods of 3 to 4 years — a performance that is difficult to match with other asset classes. Beyond solar itself, the vision also extends to energy storage, expected to become the next major driver of industrial energy transition.

Strategic Partners in Action: Huawei, Green Power, and Jinko Solar

The morning continued with presentations from Africa Solar’s strategic partners. Huawei, Green Power, and Jinko Solar — three leading players in the global photovoltaic ecosystem — each showcased their solar energy solutions and latest innovations, reaffirming their commitment to supporting Africa Solar in accelerating the growth of the Tunisian market.

IPP in Tunisia: A Regulatory Framework Gaining Momentum

One of the highlights of the morning was the panel dedicated to IPP (Independent Power Producers) projects and Tunisia’s regulatory framework. The representative of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy presented an encouraging outlook on a sector that has now reached operational maturity.

“An entire ecosystem has developed around IPP projects,” he explained.

After several years of market development, IPP initiatives have now reached their sixth round, with strong results. Thanks in particular to structured dialogue with private-sector stakeholders, applications have increased significantly, enabling authorities to implement a more selective process to ensure the viability of approved projects.

Several initiatives are currently underway or under consideration, including tariff revisions aimed at improving project profitability and sustainability, the digitalization of the application process, and a possible expansion within the framework of the sixth round.

Energy Storage, Self-Consumption, and Sustainable Communities: Afternoon Discussions

The second part of the seminar focused on energy storage and smart self-consumption solutions, notably through a presentation of Huawei’s Smart PV & BESS solution.

A panel bringing together representatives from the Ministry of Industry, STEG, and ANME further enriched the technical discussions before concluding with a networking lunch, offering participants the opportunity to continue exchanges in a more informal setting.
